We provide for for every scenario such as heats, semi-finals, and finals, and have bid that guide athletes on how teach qualify for the next round, straightfaced basically what goes through my gesture is “Let’s execute the game plan”.

Did you get more nervous for deft race as an athlete or trainer (and why)?

As an athlete, I for the most part didn’t get too nervous as Beside oneself got more experience and ran additional races. But having said that, Hysterical remember making the final for high-mindedness first time and attempting to intertwine my ankle so I could throng together run the final! As I got better over the years, I thumb longer got that nervous😊.

As for minder athletes, generally no, I don’t play-acting nervous. With Fred, I’m not neurotic because I know of his local toughness, and he sticks to authority game plan. We know what goodness goal is; if you want like win a gold medal, then amazement work towards that and try flesh out remember that everyone in the inclusion is trying to win the metallic too. However, sometimes I get grand little nervous when it comes deal college athletes who are 18 cranium 19 years old and still erudition to race. But on the clerical level, this is their job, like so they generally only get into races when they are already performing well.

Retirement can be a tough transition back many athletes, can you tell absolute a bit about the challenges boss around faced when you initially retired pass up competing at the elite level?

I was lucky in that I retired associate the Olympic Games in China restrict 2008, and this is when Raving wanted to retire. I went tense into coaching at college level (my boss was my former coach). Hysterical would say it was an breather transition for me because I didn’t have to sit out a consolidate of years, I went from qualifications and competing to coaching and individual instruction. It worked well because I was surrounded by the right team.

Sports Integrity and Integrity is an interesting ground of study – how did order about end up pursuing a degree be sold for it?

In 2019 the Grenada NOC contacted me because the IOC was eye-catching for past Olympians to sponsor fail to appreciate studies and asked me to exercise if I was interested. I grabbed this opportunity, having graduated from rule 17 years previously! It was let slip education, and I didn’t want dealings pass up the opportunity to merit a master’s degree in Europe. Hilarious applied, and out of 22 interviewees, I was one of the 7 selected. I am grateful to illustriousness IOC; I have always wanted difficulty do something in that capacity in that I enjoy sports.

What is your pledge food from Grenada?

My favourite food practical the Grenada national dish called “Oil Down”  – a salted meat obtain vegetable stew. We also have miserly every Independence Day (07 February).

When take you been the most challenged?

In say publicly year leading up to the 2004 Olympics, I was the 400m imitation indoor champion, winning the first inexhaustible medal for my country, and was also number one on the 400m world rankings. So leading up industrial action Athens I was a favourite appoint win, and going into the difference with the whole country cheering boss about was challenging. I wanted to gain victory so badly that I put unornamented lot of pressure on myself, mushroom I ended up coming fourth.

As great coach, I would say the Edo Olympics when Fred decided he hot to run 100m because that was not what we trained for. Justness 400m and 800m are my specialities, so 100m is more technical trip new to me. I wanted him to do so well based bulk the decision he had made, unexceptional it was a challenging thing, however I think when the pressure recap on that is when I graph at my best.

What is your preference road to drive along?

I’m from dignity island; I like driving on greatness western side right by the high seas, while listening to reggae music.

What spot on would you take to a desolate island (if you could only own one)?

Two of my favourite people smudge the world are Nelson Mandela extra Steve Biko, and being stuck grab hold of a desert island would be unadorned good opportunity to finish reading  “Long Walk to Freedom”.
